General Guidelines – What you should do to keep you and your passengers safe
- No one should travel if they are unwell or experiencing symptoms and this includes not only passengers but drivers and company employees.
- You should maintain good personal hygiene including hand washing procedures and use hand sanitiser frequently.
- Coach cleaning must be regular… please see below for Coach Cleaning
- Pax to be advised terms and conditions surrounding Covid-19 Safety and Risk Mitigation sheet to be completed daily (requirements may vary, please refer to specific instructions relevant to your area)
- Contact details of passengers should be recorded to the best of your ability for contact tracing purposes. (requirements may vary, please refer to specific instructions relevant to your area)
- Density requirement do not apply but where possible people should spread out and leave spare seats if possible.
- Consideration should be given to passenger flow i.e. those getting on vehicle first should occupy back seats so coach fills from back to front and when leaving coach passengers should leave from the front seats first.
Extended Touring – Specific
- Passenger details should already be on file, verify with Tour Leader this is correct.
- Coach cleaning must be strictly adhered to – please refer to below for Coach Cleaning
- Passengers should be encouraged to use hand sanitiser upon entering coach throughout the day.
- Passengers should be asked to remain in same seat each day and load coach from back first if possible.
- Face masks should be carried on coach and If passenger presents unwell during tour be asked to wear protective mask.
- Tour Leader/Director should liaise with tour company if passenger presents unwell for further instructions.
- Driver should contact he office to advise situation and for assistance if deemed necessary i.e. closest medical facility if required.
- Office to liaise with tour company to ensure issue is in hand.
- On board toilet facility should remain closed and regular rest stops offered.
- Tours will be encouraged to not include morning/afternoon tea from the coach however if unavoidable single use portions and single use plates, cups and utensils should be used.
- Ensure Risk Mitigation Sheet completed and returned to office for recording.
Driver Responsibilities
Before every departure (the start and during) all driver guides must provide the following information to their passengers;
- Hand sanitiser is provided and it is strongly recommended that you use it.
- All passengers please remember to keep a 1.5 meter distance when boarding and disembarking the coach.
- All passengers please take your rubbish with you.
- All passengers please take note of your seat number and return to this seat every time you board the coach. Smaller vehicle seats are not numbered.
- The coach hard surfaces have been cleaned before the tour and will be cleaned again at every stop.
- All vehicles are thoroughly cleaned (inc A/C) before, during and after touring)
Coach Cleaning Procedures
- Cleaning/wipe down with disinfectant and disinfectant spray.
- Hand rails, seat arms, window seals (pax seat closes to windows) hard surfaces below windows, windows, all handles, over head luggage racks (including the part pax uses as a hand rail)
- Drivers area – all buttons, hand brake handle, all hard surfaces, dash areas, steering wheel, indicator and wiper storks, keys, seat adjustment buttons, PA, DVD/Radio, PA head sets, cabin spray disinfectant spray, A/C filter to be cleaned at the end of every shift and disinfectant sprayed during a shift.
If it’s a hard surface you need to wipe it down. Use Aerosol disinfectant for seats, seat belt clips and A/C filters. Use trigger bottle disinfectant for all other surfaces. Use rubber gloves when cleaning.
The vehicle cleaning above is in addition to the normal cleaning as follows;
- Sweep and vacuum
- Clean all windows
- Remove all rubbish
- Dust all surfaces
- Mop hard floors (with hot water and disinfectant)
